CE certification with advice on costs
Today, CE certification in form of a CE conformity assessment procedure, a written CE declaration of conformity and a final CE marking is a mandatory requirement for placing certain products on the market and participating in the free movement of goods on the European market. Reinisch GmbH is at your side to answer any questions your may have about CE certification. And this at a fair price!
The entire CE certification process aims to ensure that the corresponding products meet all applicable requirements in terms of product safety. By issuing a declaration of conformity and affixing the CE marking, the manufacturer declares towards supervisory authorities that his product complies with these safety requirements and all applicable legal provisions. Since a large number of directives as well as laws and standards may apply in this context, a comprehensive research of standards and guidelines is part of our services in the field of CE certification. All possible applicable EU directives and their implementation into national law, as well as the harmonised standards with regard to their relevance for the respective product, are reviewed at reasonable cost. reinisch GmbH carries out these and other tasks for you in the course of CE certification. In addition to our main locations in Karlsruhe and Hanover, we assist you with advice and support throughout Germany.
Obligation for certification
The CE certification process, including the CE marking affixing is not a voluntary service, but a mandatory requirement for certain products.
Each manufacturer, importer or distributor is responsible for obtaining information on any existing CE marking obligation for each product and for examining whether and, if so, what duties arise for him as a result. The list of product groups to be CE marked is long and ranges from construction products, measuring instruments and radio equipment to lifts and cableway installations. The CE representatives of reinisch GmbH support manufacturers of all sectors on all safety related aspects in the course of the CE certification, and upon request, also in early phases of product development and design. We are represented in Karlsruhe, Hanover and throughout Germany.
Five steps to obtaining CE certification
The following steps have to be completed in order to be permitted to affix the CE marking to your product:
- Identify the applicable guidelines for your product
- Assessment of the product’s conformity including all required tests and estimations
- Involvement of a “Notified Body” for certain products, if necessary
- Draw up a declaration of conformity
- Affix the CE marking to your product
Conformity assessment at the core of CE certification
Therefore, the affixing of the CE marking is not a simple self-commitment of the manufacturer, but finalises the end of a complex CE certification process.
A comprehensive conformity assessment is the key component of this procedure. In mechanical and plant engineering, the European Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) is the foundation of this assessment and requires a qualified risk assessment that identifies all hazards which could originate from a machine. The CE team of reinisch GmbH assists customers with risk analyses and estimations required in the course of conformity assessment of machinery and derives recommendations for risk mitigation from them. And, of course, at a reasonable cost.
